                                 History of Baseball Caps

Where did baseball caps originate?

There was a baseball team back in 1849 out of New York City called the Knickerbockers. During the games, they would wear straw caps on their heads to give them cover from the sun, which became the first version of the hat we now know and love.

When was the baseball cap invented?

April 24, 1849

The first baseball hats were made of straw. The New York Knickerbockers first wore them on April 24, 1849. But within a few years, the team began wearing a cap of fine merino wool. It featured a crown with an attached visor or “bill.”

What is the history of the baseball cap?

In 1860, the Brooklyn Excelsiors wore the ancestor of the modern rounded-top baseball cap, which featured a long peak and a button on top, and by 1900, the “Brooklyn style” cap became popular. During the 1940s, latex rubber became the stiffening material inside the hat and the modern baseball cap was born.

What happens when you place an order?

 

Our front offices have two order processors who print out orders over the phone and the internet. In addition, they review them to check shipping addresses for correctness. Orders are then sent to the floor to order pullers, which see if the product is in stock, and the customer is sent an email verification of processing.

 

How your tire cover order is processed

 

Then a work order is sent to printing to supply the print to the floor. Once the printed circle is ready, it is sent to our sewing department to be assembled; Likewise, once that is done, the cover, along with its order paperwork, is sent to shipping, where it is checked, and the security system is installed if required, then boxed. In addition, the box and its paperwork are sent to our shipping department, where the shipping label is produced. Next, it is put in a mail or ups bin, waiting to be picked up by the proper carrier. To make a long story short, we just produced your tire cover. The shipping department will mark the product complete, and you will be sent a tracking information email.
